Rugged. Minimal. Functional. Value.
Certain items we handle and use everyday become an extension of our identity and I believe that this particular quality cannot be replicated on a machine. If machines brought us prefabrication, then hand-crafted leatherwork could be defined as postfabrication. There is a little bit of me in each of these pieces imparted via the constant handling that defines the leatherworking process. Through a lifetime of use these imprints of the maker are overwritten by those of the owner in the form of patina and signs of wear. It is a gradual hand-off from me to you and my goal is that you will experience the same satisfaction each time you use my leather goods as I felt when I made them.
Why I do what I do
I started out making things from leather for my own use. I want things that look and feel beautiful and are just plain satisfying to use for a reasonable price. The more I made, the more I learned and that was good. Then I realized that there are lots of other people out there who appreciate those same qualities so here we are, and I for one couldn’t be more humbled and happy about it.
